A new update has been released for OYOclass which now allows you to change which alerts get sent to your alert bell:

How to Access the new Alert Settings
Prior to today's update, there was no way to control which alerts were sent to your notifications, but now you are able to filter out alerts you don't wish to receive in the new Alerts Settings tab in your OYOclass Settings page:

The Alert Settings Page
In this page you can see the types of alerts that can be customized:

If you click on the Expand button on the right of each section, you can see and toggle finer details of alert types:

Here you can choose to uncheck some, all, or none of these alert types. After you uncheck an alert type (and click the save button on the bottom of the page after), you will no longer receive alerts of that type until you turn it back on again in the same page.
Exception Communities
The situation might arise where you may want to turn off an alert setting globally, but have the alert on for a specific community if you are in more than one. You can accomplish this with the "Exception Community" option:

This page has the exact same customizable alerts as the global alert settings page, but only affects the specific community you selected.
If at any point you wish to remove an exception community, you can do so by simply clicking the trash icon next to it in the dropdown:

Note: The settings of your exception community will always override your global settings for alerts coming from that community. You can use the Exception Community settings in either way, to specially ignore alerts OR to specially get alerts from a specific community that you globally ignore.
Example Use Cases
Case 1) I am a student. I only want challenge and solution related alerts.
In your global alert settings, you may uncheck all alert types except the Challenges and Badges section:

Case 2) I am a teacher. I don't want to receive alerts when solutions are submitted, but I want to know when someone tags me on the wall.
You can specifically disable the solution submitted alert in the Community Moderation section:

Also make sure that the tag related alerts in the Community Posting section remain checked:

Case 3) I am a community owner. I only want to receive alerts from the community I own.
You can accomplish this by ignoring all alerts globally, and adding your owned community as an exception with all alerts turned on:
